Watch Together being really unstable for the last 3 weeks

Hello,

I have a problem with my Plex Watch Together function. I used it a lot of times in the past and it always worked without any problem. But recently when I watch something with someone, either me or them get a message like this:

First the playback starts playing in like a 3 second loop, then the playback stops and this message pops out.

It was working before but now it’s doing for like two or three weeks.

Anyone experiencing the same issue?

Hi, I don’t think the issue is with the “Plex Watch Together” feature. I’ve been getting the same error message since the last Plex update. After several attempts, I noticed that it would show me the error every time my Plex server was performing an operation (adding or deleting series and movies, detecting credits, updating metadata, etc.).

I just tried to replicate the issue by playing the media again, and having the console open in the browser so I can send you more info about the error that I am getting, but whenever I get that error, the whole Plex page with console refreshes and the console is empty after.

Hmm it happens to me even when no operation is happening.

I don’t believe this is a server issue, either. I get the same issue and haven’t updated my server close to two years. It happens when I try to search forward or backwards while watching together.

I DID manage to correct the “looping” effect by changing the playback quality to “convert automatically” from the pause menu.

I’m using a 3 year old Fire Stick 4K, and the person I was watching with was using a 2 year old Apple TV. The other person was NOT having the playback issue I was.
