Watched status not syncing from mobile device to server

Continuing the discussion from Watched state not synced after watching offline:

Server Version#: 1.21.2.3918
Player Version#: 8.11.0.22186

Firstly, thanks to the team for continuous updates. Overall, my Plex experience is good. However, it is annoying to have something almost work but not actually work as expected.

So, my issue is the same as many others on this forum. The related threads are all closed due to inactivity so I’m starting another.

I see that partial play-through will update almost immediately, but synced items which were marked as “played” offline aren’t registered. Please look in to why the played status of items mobile devices isn’t updated on the server after reconnecting.

MacOS Server Version#: 1.21.4.4079-1b7748a7b
iOS Player Version#: spans at least a year’s worth of updates if not more (current version 7.3 problem persists)

My scenario is probably the same as many others. Sync content. Watch on plane. Sync when I get home. Watched shows from being offline aren’t watched after sync on the server.
