Using the web app, it used to be that when a new server version was available,
you could click on crossed wrench/screwdriver icon on the top right, then
click on SETTINGS General in the left column, and you see what
version of PMS you are currently running, and a notice that a new version
was available, and a link called “What’s New” that you could click on that
would provide the release notes for the new release, telling you what changed
in the new release. I’m no longer seeing the “What’s New?” link.
I used it, I hope it was not intentionally removed. Can it be brought back?
Missing on my Settings page as well…
In the meantime, here are the release announcements, starting with the next version after the one you currently have installed:
I have no pending updates left… didn’t the “what’s new” section start showing when clicking Please install manually? (I might be confusing this with some other app…)
As for darcilicious’ link:
you can always bookmark that (using the forum’s “bookmark” functionality) – this will give you an e-mail notification with the new scope for every new release announcement. Downside… if you’re on the public release channel, you will have to live through all the “in-between” beta announcements in that thread as well.
Not to the best of my memory: I believe the link was there to click on to read the notes
before you decided to download the release. Nonetheless, I did try clicking on the
“Please install manually” link: no “What’s New” link appeared, it just started to download the release.
I’ve noticed with the last couple of releases the “What’s New” icon is back
where it used to be. Thank you, I always read it before deciding if I need to/want
to install a new release.
