I have some lights in my media room and I would “like” to use webhooks to do the basic
“Lights off at Play
Lights on at stop
Lights dim at pause”
kind of things.
I am a complete novice and so I’m wondering if someone can point me towards a unit that will connect to my home network and I can plug the lights into and then the code to place in the webhooks console.
Maybe it is not that easy and I can just forget about it but I thought maybe someone already had done this work and why reinvent the wheel.
I’ve looked for a simple and clear to understand tutorial for someone that doesn’t know the first thing about webhooks for years. So far people have offered help which includes them assuming I know a lot more about this stuff than I do (zero) and as of yet I’ve been unable to control my lighting when playing movies in my theater like I’d want to.
Maybe you’ll have better luck and we’ll both be shown how to make this happen.
I have hue lights, took me about a month to go from knowing 0 python (and not having done any programming at all for 25 years) to writing an event handler to do this.
happy to share my ugly code but it’ll only work with hue lights.
