Webhooks Bug W/ Multiple Episodes

It looks like webhooks has a bug.

When you add a full season and scan, webhooks only sends out an event for one episode. (I only see one show up in trakt.)

However, if you add each episode, one by one, you get each episode.

Contacted trakt and they said it’s a known issue. They said there was a post (couldn’t find one) awaiting official comment.

Anyone else noticed this?

Per “Justin Nemeth”

"Oh I see. With collections, I’ve noticed a recent issue where the web hook
doesn’t send the proper date if more than 1 episode is collected for a
show. They should send a web hook for each episode, but instead Plex seems
to only send a single web hook that says the show was collected. So far I
haven’t found a workaround for this and it appears Plex will need to fix
the bug.

There should be a topic in the Plex forums about it, but last I checked I
didn’t see any official response."

Web hooks has multiple bugs but Plex doesn’t seem to care or acknowledge the issues.

To be fair, I’m not finding a ton of posts about webhooks but I’d like to keep this thread focused on the reported issues.

Anyone from Plex able to comment?

Just bumping again.

Bumpity Bump Bump

Bump = bounce :slight_smile:

Hello? Anyone?

As the guy above said, there’s a ton of issues with Plex’s webhooks, I understand you want to keep this on topic, but I think webhooks takes a pretty far backseat to the rest of the house. If you want a work around, I think Tautulli will create a webhook for each episode on it’s base webhooks configuration, but you can set it to wait till the entire season, or show, is scanned as well by setting a timer, however, due to how plex and tautulli integrate, this solution may not be perfect either. Admittedly, I dislike when each ep broadcasts individually because I’m using it for announcing of new content to facebook, so I turned on the timer relatively quickly. About 30 episodes across 3 different seasons showed up for a show I had added before I turned on the timer, that’s why I think it may work for you, but I haven’t tested beyond that.

I appreciate it. Yeah, not looking for a workaround but it’s apparent this function is half baked. I get it, dev cycles go to the core products but if you aren’t going to work on it, don’t releases it.

I’ll just let this thread die.
