Me to b0bben.
i sent one as well a few days ago, would love to test this out…
webos 3.05 is out - with support for http-live-streaming B)
Dear awesome ppl with TouchPads.
Time has come to release this (beta) beast onto more ppl.
So here we go, a plex for webOS public beta. Mark this day as the day awesomeness flew thru your body!
Hammer at it, play with it, make love to it, make noise about it. Give some constructive feedback before we release this thing onto App Catalog.
One thing to keep in mind:
IMPORTANT: you will NOT be able to seek in videos. This is a bug in webOS, and a workaround will be in the next Plex Media Server.
Always choose the “Start from the beginning” button in resume dialog. Always!
There. I warned you. And if you whine about seeking not working, i’ll make sure you don’t receive any buns, you hear that? NO BUNS IF YOU MENTION SEEKING NOT WORKING!
Instructions:
Download: com.plexapp.webos-client_0.6.5_all.ipk.zip (1.48 MB)
Unzip, and then install .ipk onto your touchpad.
Have fun.

PS:
This beta will expire in 30 days.
Installed. Plex server says it is online in the app via wifi(and confirmed that I can open channels on the Roku player via wifi).
But the webOS app is blank. On the left side it just says Plex and on the right side it says Welcome to Plex. Nothing else appears, no menus, no places to add channels…
Is there some other step needed?
Hi,
If you go to "Preferences & Servers..." do you see your server there?
Trying turning on myPlex on your PMS and then logging in to myplex on the touchpad, see if it shows up there.
I would appreciate some logs as well...
//b0bben
Same problem…
Same here (and : thank you for your work, b0bben
My PMS is on a Netgear ReadyNAS Ultra 2
Wi-Fi with other clients work (Iphone, PC…)
“BHomePro” on the touchpad find my media servers
So it seems like the auto-discovery is b0rked.
I will fix this in a couple of hours.
//b0bben
Can someone with auto-discovery problem please provide me with a log.
I can’t reproduce locally…
//b0bben
Ok. I turn off CM9 and I will send you !
Do I have to "publish server on myplex" to get this working over local wifi?
It says myplex is unable to connect to your server but Roku is working fine without this feature over local wifi.
(The plex client for webOS sees the macbook snow leopard as online)
I have a complicated setup (ooma and airport express set to bridge with Arris modem) and don't
know how to manually configure router. So far I have been either using wifi locally or choosing solutions
that get around this when connected to the internet--ie splashtop with google login, pogoplug.
Hi,
Is your PMS running on Windows?
//b0bben
Macbook Snow Leopard
I can confirm that it seems screwed on Windows - I took my touchpad round to a friend using the Windows PMS and his server refused to show up. Works fine on my mac-based setup.
Are you using local wifi or over the internet? Did the touchpad work automatically or did you have to configure your mac a certain way to get it to work? I ask because it is not working on my mac over local wifi (but the roku works).
Just got it installed on my touchpad, everything seems to work without signing into my plex. Plays great of my mac mini. I did notice when i signed into my plex the “my plex details” screen shows:
“Logged in as xxx (xxx@gmail.com) Logged in as xxx (xxx@gmail.com)”
Seems the message is repeated.
Also noticed that once inside viewing the episode details that the background image looks streched.
Overall works great!
Plex Media Server on Windows 7 machine. Touchpad 3.0.5. I can log into MyPlex on the Touchpad, but no servers are showing anywhere. Thanks for your efforts.
I’ve written :
But, 10 hours after my install, client suddenly works... No reason for that (no reboot or else), but thank you for the result :-)
Using PMS on Windows 7. Connecting via wifi. Works for me. Took a couple of time re-opening the app, the servers eventually showed up. Everything played greatly.
Any chance we’ll get plugins working?
