Weird problem - 2 servers showing up as 1 on same account

Hey guys,

I have two servers, both running the same Ubuntu 14.04 OS. One is called Vail at location 1 and the other is called Diamond at location 2. I originally copied the OS drive of Vail and put it on the Diamond, however, I did purge Plex from Diamond after I had these issues and re-install it, but nothing has changed.

Basically, when I am logged in to my Plex account, regardless if I go remotely connect to Diamond or Vail on their respective public IP’s, I randomly get one or the other servers showing up. (E.g. I connect to Vail’s public IP and either get shown Diamond or Vail as my Plex server and vice-versa). On the upper left when I am logged in to either server, the other does not show up as an option on the dropdown list - it is like I only have 1 server registered to Plex.

Is there any way to remove and re-add the servers so I can show both servers on the dropdown list and and not randomly connect to one of them?

Sign Out both of the servers from your plex account.
(if one of the servers is at a remote location, you won’t be able to reach it in a Plex client, so you need to establish a SSH tunnel to sign it back in afterwards.)

Quit Plex.

Now locate the Preferences.xml file on one of the machines and edit it.
Remove the following keys from it:

AnonymousMachineIdentifier
MachineIdentifier
ProcessedMachineIdentifier

Doing so will cause it to lose any shares to other plex accounts, so choose wisely, on which server you do the procedure.
Afterwards start up Plex Server again.
Sign In the machines to your plex account. Verify/Recreate the shares if there were any.

This worked, thanks a ton!!
