What do you do if PLEX chooses to throw two miniseries together?

Server Version#: 1.32.8.7639
Player Version#: N/A

I have ripped my DVDs of the 2000 and 2003 miniseries “Dune” and “Children of Dune”. Put them neatly into their folders and named them according to themoviedb - including the episode titles. For whatever reason, PLEX won’t differentiate between them - “Frank Herbert’s Children of Dune (2003)\Frank Herbert’s Children of Dune (2003) - e01 - The Messiah.mp4” gets put together with “Frank Herbert’s Dune (2000)\Frank Herbert’s Dune (2000) - e01 - Dune.mp4”.

Help is appreciated.

That thing with the curly brackets is just hacky bullshit. How much more explicit than the names I chose can you get? But fine, it works with the curly bracket stuff. I’m really questioning if I should keep up with this unpleasant experience or investigate e.g. Jellyfin. For the amount they should be making with this PLEX pass, they really should have a customer service.

The curly brackets are only necessary in very few cases where there are very similar show titles within the same year.

Try adding the release (year) to the show folder name and a proper season/episode code, (instead of just episode) to .your file names.
