What does this new feature mean to the common user?

I have been using plex for over 3 years and I have no idea what that means!

These are film studios.
Here is the wikipedia article about original programming from ‘Showcase AU’

The studio logo can be seen in Plex Web (among other clients) for movies or tv shows.
