As a lifetime Plex Pass member, I am little disturbed to see what is being focused on and what isn’t. The recent changes to the Andoird app are horrible. The grouping of media based on Movies/Shows/whatever else is not really great. I want to be able to select a server and go from there. It appears that many other people want this reverted as well.
Furthermore - the notifications that the Android plex app sends to the OS cannot be cleared. Even after tapping the alert to go to the show that it is alerting you about, it still hangs in the notification area. Unable to swipe away in either direction. I had to block notifications all together from Plex within Android.
There are other issues - like Live TV taking me to a wizard to sign up rather than to my live tv tuner on my server.
The app won’t remember my filter or view settings, so i have to sort by recently aired episode every time i launch the app.
The casting and remote doesn’t always work. It will not detect players on my network despite there being one and it is setup properly.
How do I revert to a previous version??
I know that I am not the only one with these issues. Perhaps more time should have been spent on the TV apps and the PS4 app which are still very archaic compared to the new features out now. Be careful not to go too mainstream. Remember what has brought people to plex in the past. Once you start catering to the mass of idiots who still can’t figure out technology in 2018 you will lose your main customer/user base.
How can I become a beta tester to help QA and weed out some of these bad ideas? With my IT career and nerd-like experience, I want to help.
