This is a widespread issue with the android Plex app and watching Live TV & DVR.
The problem is there is no proper feedback for beta issues, and instead of not releasing buggy betas, they have released them for 6+ months.
Just because you are not experiencing the issue does not negate the fact this is an issue, as stated by multiple posts across multiple threads, across mutlple plex forum topics.
Why is there a need to say you dont have a problem when you can easily search through the forums you linked for tons of people having this issue to the point they have abandoned plex altogther. All without a single statement from plex on what they are trying to do to resolve and make this process better.
just saw the latest android release fixes this:
DVR: selecting a different library to record to didn’t work.
This had been a pain for months - I had been using my PC to set recordings. Can’t wait to validate.
VTron21,
I can using my iphone and my Fire TV. The shield was working ok but it got worse for the past releases. I found workarounds to lessen the issues. 1- force the tuner to move off the channel. If you go to a channel that is not already tuned in with the tv tuner (I have an hdhomerun quattro). it works better. So watch from beginning tells me I need to move off then come back. 2- force stream to trancode live tv.
This is a problem with lots of software development, Firefox being a prime example. Developers see features and UX changes as the neat parts of the end product and what really puts their stamp on things. Backend work and fixing bugs is not sexy coding so it gets ignored often. This is especially true in open source development where there is no boss forcing people to work on things they don’t want to, and the product is often free so there’s no business case to work on something the end users want if the developers don’t share their enthusiasm (see: Pidgin).
Its sad that their not fixing bugs, ive been using this for years and in the last 2 months of updates its broken my server to the point that i can barely watch anything without it either loading forever or freezing continuously.
