I have collected a few super deluxe albums over the years. These often come with the original album as well as extra discs of live performances, blu-ray audio, etc. Now I have already determined that I am currently not able to merge multichannel audio from BR and DVDs into my audio collection and have had to create a separate video collection to handle these. My question is, what is the best way to manage all of the rest of the CDs that come with the collection. For example, I am working on the Pyromania deluxe set right now. It has 4 discs, one is the main album, 2 of them are live performances and the other is out takes and demos etc. I know that I can label the songs with the number of the disck + the track number as well as numbering the discs in the set 1/4, 2/4 etc… The issue I have is that there is no way to label each disc in the collection. All you get is Disc 1, Disc 2, etc…
Correct. Unfortunately you will have to live with it. There is currently no way to give discs a title in Plex.
There is a feature request for it though Non-numerical labels for discs
I have taken to include relevant detail into the track title.

Thanks. I decided to just use the artist functionality to identify the disc. It’s not the best but it works about as well as using the song title.
