Is there a way to name individual discs in multi-disc albums? Usually, numbering them as Disc 1, Disc 2, etc. is fine, but some albums have discs with distinct titles.
For example, Smashing Pumpkins’ ‘Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness’ has 2 discs, each with their own title (‘Dawn to Dusk’ and ‘Twilight to Starlight’). If those titles are included in the album titles in the Plex metadata, Plex will split everything into two distinct albums. Only by having the same album names will the two discs be grouped together by Plex.

as for “seasons” here:

i’ve got the same issue, @jat_plex, i’m trying to
decide which is more important:
grouping them as a collection,
or keeping the titles in their original state,

obivously, i’m trying to do this @ the tag
level, first, so should i move it from location
a to b, plex will treat it identically. IF there’s
some kind of possibility from my link, well,
it would only exist like that as long as that
content remains in place as far as the
database is concerned (where the change
is taking place).
+to be fair to plex (even in regards to the “seasons”
issue), id3 tags (or mp4/m4a tags) don’t support
this (to my knowledge).
