What is the most compatible off air turner for PLEX?

I’m looking for what would work best with PLEX for DVR recording and remote viewing. Looking for most compatible not the cheapest. I’m running the latest server software on Mac OS 10.10.5. HDHomeRun Extend is what I was looking at. Is there a tuner that would be better? I’m using PLEX mainly for watching downloaded movies over my home network. The tuner would be used mainly for remote viewing over the Internet for when away from home. I was thinking that the Extend would lighten the load with it’s on board transcoding. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I’m using an HDHR Extend, and haven’t had any huge issues with it. Some of the guide data is wrong, but that’s the fault of Tribune Media (who ultimately supplies the guide data to both Plex and HDHR’s apps). I’ve worked around the incorrect guide data with a custom script to pull the XMLTV data from somewhere and correct it it before handing the file over for Plex to use. I do wish the HDHR’s encoding options were more flexible. As it is, you’ll find that you’ve got a few cookie cutter transcode profiles available…

I use the HDHomeRun Quatro because it has more tuners, and my Synology NAS and everything is wired for best results
