I am wondering how to best add different language audio tracks to a movie. Would like to know how people do it. I have several options but don’t know what’s the best. I can for example have several version each with the corresponding audio track, for example Movie1.english.mp4, Movie2.frehch.mp4. If this is the case, how do i name them for Plex to recognize them and present the different version?
Also, i can use a .mkv container and add the language tracks in there along with the video. Since i already have several versions lying around i would like to know what people are thoughts and experience on this topic. Thanks.
cannot give a language to a video file name that plex will recognize. it only picks up the language for audio track and subtitles tracks.
Whether you use mp4 or mkv. I would only have 1 video file with multiple audio tracks and just change the audio track you want to use when you play back.
If you for some reason need them to be separate video files I would maybe just just use localized name for the movie title if they have one. ( you can edit metadata to name them whatever you want )
