What's changed in the 5.7.0.173-beta

In both the mobile beta and TV beta (here) it lists there aren’t any changes “specific” to either platform in this latest beta. Something had to have changed otherwise what’s the point of the update?

The Plex apk contains both the package for Android TV and Android mobile. There were probably changes for Android mobile.

Yep, I do understand that.

However, here’s the release notes from the Android (mobile) beta section:

Plex for Android 5.7.0.173-beta
Available on Google Play
This version does not include any changes that affect the mobile app.

And then the release note from this the Android TV beta (this forum) section:

Plex for Android 5.7.0.173-beta
Available on Google Play
This version does not include any changes that affect the Android TV app.

This is why I’m looking for a little insight as to what this release is all about. I can only assume they possibly exposed something that wasn’t supposed to be exposed (similar to what happened in the iOS beta)?

Correct we updated the DVR exposure on Android TV, the change didn’t get a release note.

Thank you for the update.

I have a server with DVR (not running on SHIELD). I’m not seeing this on 5.7.0.173.

What exactly does this mean?

They removed it from 5.7.0.173. It was in 5.7.0.113 from my understanding.

It was inadvertendtly exposed in a beta.
