I installed Kodi and right out of the box, it works, so why doesnt plex? I have changed nothing, all software is up to date and with the correct permissions. Is it because it needs to be a native app?
If you still want Plex to work, with all the Eye candy.
Your best bet is to start again after a proper uninstall of PLEX
Iām not trying to be rude here, but Iām not having the issues mentioned in numerous discussions. If you are following the Plex Guides for File structure and naming, you are 95% on the way to trouble free viewing. Caveat, some clients can be troublesome at times along with using Beta releases. Iām comfortable using betas, knowing the procedure of rolling back or using a Plex backup.
I hope you invest a bit of time to regain a solid Plex instillation, I believe itās worth it over other software.
Thanks very much for your reply. I have been a happy, fully paid up lifetime member, with a reasonable technical understanding. Plex was working great even with the M1 mac & I too, was happy that I wasnāt experiencing the same problems that others were, but alas Plex issued an update. Even after todays update nothing works. When I uninstall PMS, it will be the third time in as many months, to no avail, a considerable investment in time and effort, has led me to posting here, because I am at my wits end.
I fully agree with you. The past year has been fraught with breaking updates that cause so many transcoding issues.
I can open Netflix and just play something. No errors. Am I Netflix with my server? Absolutely not. Should I expect the many variables to make some things tricky sometimes? Sure! Should an update completely break my ability to use automatic quality, or to transcode EAC audio? Hell no!
Iām really fed up with these constantly breaking updates.
