going to copy paste my cert in there and upload with the iphone app i guess...

see if that is going to work

Just a note for people who want to grab prebuilt files.

This fix inserts a new root certificate authority on your Apple TV. That means any certificate signed by that root will be trusted by your AppleTV if it is presented when an app requests a resource. As long as you generate your own root and install it this isn't a significant risk, but if everyone has the same root then you have opened a potential vulnerability. Namely, if someone were to DNS cache poison you (either at the LAN layer or upstream) then they could intercept your encrypted traffic from your Apple TV. That potentially includes Apple ID credentials or even CC data if you update your information on the ATV.

This is not a huge risk as it does require significant network infrastructure access, but it would be irresponsible not to mention it. This is why I haven't provided prebuilt files so far.

thanks man.

when i'll have a second apple tv, i can point it to the exist trailers.pem or need to make a new one-is this file maked specially for every atv?

thank you all

You can point it at the existing one. Just install the same profile on the other ATV and you're set.

BTW, I have figured out the performance issues with the current patch. I'll upload a fix soon-ish.

Wow! Great news, that, orthogonal !

ok thank you so much. will it be in github?

let us know anyway :)

Geeze, I fall asleep and it's broken, wake up and it's fixed. Who needs super computers when we've got the ingenuity of you fine folks. Great work!

Pushed to github. Update now! Hopefully I didn't screw it up ;)

Per stoffez's request:

https://langui.sh/2013/08/27/appletv-ssl-plexconnect/

http://github.com/reaperhulk/PlexConnect

(Eventually my changes will be merged back into the primary plexconnect codebase and this fork will disappear.)

u should put the link to ur github and the link to ur blog in your description.. that way we dont need to scroll back 10 pages

Got this up and running. Thanks!!

updated to latest performance patch - wonderful.

I didn't notice much of a lag in the initial patch but I was coming from the Samsung app and that thing lagged but did notice snappier response after the push to git.

This really made my day.  Thanks.

Nicely done, works like a charm!

Thanks to Orthogonal and others who have got PlexConnect working again! I have got mine up and running. I agree it is a lot slower than before, but I still happy as long as it's working. I'm no expert, but my guess the increased loading time of pages is due to the SSL, and verifying certificates. May be someone can look at it, once the changes are finalized.

Great work guys!
