Will this only for for Mac ?

Please check this out:

It basicly starts two sockets with same handler

A step by step would be nice

hahah this community is awesome... Apple blocks PlexConnect and in about 6 hours you geniuses create a workaround.. my hat is of for the talent in here :D  :D  :D

Since the Apple Configurator is only available for Mac I don't know how to do it with any other platform at this time. You only need the Mac for one step.

Is it then possible to go with my ATV3 to a friend of mine who has a Mac, install the cert and it "hopefully" should work at home then? :)

We will work out something to get around it, you could always do it in a VM I guess, not for a normal user though which makes it harder.

There are changes being made to a fork now that is being tested by Planetix, so far it seems like this will work with the outlying step being you need a mac.

Hold in there!

Btw, totally agree on stoffez, awesome community here :)

Yes, here are the instructions http://langui.sh/2013/08/27/appletv-ssl-plexconnect/

I would appreciate feedback on the steps for those who are going through it (either here or on my blog). If it's unclear let me know and I'll try to improve it. Also some success stories!

Having a few issues with the adding the new settings to the settings file....

Copy+paste from your blog post didn't work... do they need to reformatted and put in the g_settings section?

Here's what my config looks like right now

[PlexConnect]
ip_pms = my_pms_ip
enable_dnsserver = True
ip_webserver = 0.0.0.0
enable_plexconnect_autodetect = True
port_pms = 32400
port_webserver = 80
port_ssl = 443
certfile = /Users/my_username/PlexConnectSSL/trailers.pem
ip_plexconnect = 0.0.0.0
ip_dnsmaster = 8.8.8.8
loglevel = Normal
logpath = .
enable_plexgdm = True
prevent_atv_update = True

Ahh nope, simpler than that.... I was missing quotes for the certfile path

Ah yes, if you have any spaces you'll need quotes. I'll add quotes to the blog post so it doesn't catch people out.

Works like a charm  :D

Yup works, was just noobie with the apple configuration tool myself. :D

Ahh rightyo, I was editing Settings.py - Didn't realise the cfg file had been introduced.... I was still editing settings the old/bad way

The Configurator doesn't see my ATV... anything special ?  Do i need to plug power?  I tried with and without Power, it only says To plug a IOS device...

You must have it powered up when you plug in the USB cable. When you plug it in without power it only runs in recovery mode.

Well slap me sideways! Very quick and very impressive.

As mentioned by others Apple Configuration is currently Mac Only. However, the older iPhone Configuration Utility IS available for Mac and Windows. Not sure if it'll pick up an ATV, let alone allow you to create a profile for it.

iPhone Configuration Utility does see the ATV, though it has a ? for the type of device, but won't allow you to install the configuration profile. looks like it's Apple Configurator or nothing :(

I think the developer team of PlexConnect will be wery happy with ur "hack", now all their work is not hours down the drain  :D  :D
