When screensaver comes on Plex closes the video

I’m not too sure the best way to explain this but recently if I pause something I am watching and it’s paused long enough for the NVIDIA Sheild screensaver to come on, Plex closes the video I was watching and it goes back to the screen where it shows the description, actors etc…

Before when I pushed a button on the remote it would just show the screen of the paused video. How can I revert back to this, I much prefer it this way.

Apologies for the awful explanation but that’s the best way I can explain it.

Something similar happens to me. Except in my case when I hit play again it restarts the show/movie from the beginning. Very frustrating and I’d love to get it back to how it used to work.

Oh that’s even worse! I hope they can sort it out so we can both enjoy it how it used to be.

This isn’t a bug. It was a change in behavior.

Plex for Android 9.20.1

FIXES:

  • Player: prevent error dialog when loading Live TV channels.
  • The app could crash while in the background.
  • [TV] Player: close player when Plex is in the background.

Oh do you know if there is a way to change it as I really dislike this feature?

It also adds so many more entries in Tautulli now.

If someone else knows, please let me know as I’ve looked everywhere and can’t see anything.
