Where does Plex Get the Actor Info for movies??

An interesting thing happened when Plex acquired Actor info and Images for the movie Sudden Impact.

There is an actor listed for that movie as Paul Drake.

Plex selects the Image of William Hopper who played Paul Drake in the TV Series Perry Mason.

I thought I would post this since it is really kinda funny…

Fictional characters as cast members…

I have the same question. A few movies are missing cast members when viewed in Plex. For example, the movie Saint John of Las Vegas, Peter Dinklage is not listed, yet on IMDb he is listed fourth. Where does this information come from?

Whichever source is set as ‘Cast list source’ in the properties of the Plex Movie agent

Unless you have an mp4 file which brings its own cast list.
Do you have actor portraits listed for this movie or just circles with their initials?
