Cast Images All Missing

I cannot for the life of me get cast images to populate for movies in Plex. Things I’ve done thus far. Plex Movie Settings: Set cast list source to “The Movie Database.”
Agents: Unchecked and moved “Local Media Assets” to the bottom of the list for Personal media, Plex movie, and The Movie Database. I refreshed all metadata and deleted my local cache files. Still no luck. The actors and all the film cover images match correctly and work great. The appropriate trailer plays for each movie. This issue occures on all of my devices such as my mac browser, iphone, appleTV, and Xbox one. I do edit the metadata on my local files before uploading them to plex. Could this be the issue, and if so, is there a way to still get actor’s images to populate without re-editing every single file and reuploading to plex?

I’m a bit confused about what type of library and agent you’re using in this situation (you mention personal media)?!

If you include cast information as part of your embedded metadata and configured Plex to prefer that metadata, Plex will not look up artist pictures for those names… it’s just text for Plex.

Thank you or your response. For Library and Agent I was only referring to the settings > agents category. I have unchecked local media assets from both Plex Movie and The Movie Database. Yet, I am still unable to get plex to generate thumbnails for actors in any film uploaded to my Synology server.

I figured it out. I had “perfer local metadata” checked in my plex movie settings. I unchecked this box, re-scanned metadata and it resolved the issue.
