Where has the Plex Web Dashboard Order setting moved to?

Not sure if I should laugh or cry.
Wait…
Just checked my recently added filter… crying seems right.

Adding insult to injury, I just discovered that the web player auto-plays the next episode with no way to turn it off. Remember when Netflix did that? Remember the outcry? Remember the hate? Remember how long it took Netflix to make a way to turn it off?

Doesn’t anybody around here read the papers?

Weeeeeeeee!

So let me get this straight - I can no longer get rid of the “On Deck” category on the home screen?

I’ve heard that one way to remove “On Deck” from your home screen is to:
Go to Settings → Server → Library
Then scroll down to Weeks to consider for On Deck and set that to “0”

In my opinion this is an overkill workaround… apparently now if you don’t want your dog in your front yard you have to kill it altogether, instead of simply keeping it behind the back yard gate where it was happy all this time.

But how do you get rid of, or re-order the cat and the iguana (the dueling banjos, uh, recently added lists)? Kill them too? Apparently you need to hire a contract killer because doing the job yourself isn’t possible.

Speaking of dueling banjos - I’m feeling a little like Ned Beatty in this relationship.

Sometimes I feel like it’s more “Silence of the Lambs”

All I can say is it’s time for Kodi/MySql. This new forced dashboard is crap and it seems their not going to listen to their customers. Why in the world do you take an option away from the user to customize their dashboard if you’re trying to gain more users? Kinda like the old russian cars…one way or no way.

Thanks for letting me try this server, but you no listen…I no use.

Will transition to Kodi/MySql and be able to see what I want to see, not what you think is best…hmmm…must be politicians running this update.

Bingo. That did the trick.

Now…to return the video streaming bitrate option in settings on the iPhone app.

I do not want to remove any categories. I just want to be able to choose in what order they are displayed on the home screen. This used to be possible.

Choice is not part of Plex’s grand plan. Do not expect to be able to customize your experience as much as you could in the past as Plex moves rapidly forward in the reverse direction choice is one of the causalities of this irresistible march to minimalism.

I agree. Taking dashboard controls away sucks.

It’s almost Christmas. Is anyone listening yet??? I just want the option back to remove continue watching and on deck. Silly to take away something so basic and useful.

I agree - let us customize. I would be happy if the GUI didn’t have the options, but I could modify the XML to do what was required. This way SOMEONE would frontend the XML but plain vanilla Plex would be as it currently delivered.

Please NOTE: I am not even sure if there is ANY XML in there but you get my point. Give us both!!!

PLEX, you are missing the point. Investors invest in order to get returns. Returns come from the community that spent the money with PLEX. No community contributions mean no returns, which means no return on investment, thus the community, your customers should be pleased where possible. I want to configure my home page, please.

I really hate that I can’t change the order of the dashboard. Like why is recently added photos ABOVE recently added Television and movies. Makes no sense. I want to change the order. Why remove an option. Never got that. So braindead!

How do I get in contact with plex about this issue? I really want their answer about this and why they decided to remove the feature. So stupid.

Oh, I can’t edit my above comment, so I’ll add this here. I have considered to buy plex pass for a while. But this is the sort of thing that keeps me from doing just that. Removing simple features and not giving me (a would be paying customer) a clear answer as for why. It feels like they are saying, “give me your money and shut up. We know better then you”.

Have we all given up on this topic? Having my Recently Added Music appear above my Recently Added Movies on my web Home page makes no sense to me. It might for others, though, so why can’t we change the order of how things appear?

I know, who am I to comment on the Plex UI? A mere customer who wants some control of the interface. Oh dopey me.
