Where is the LIST view on Android TV player? I have files that would like to see in a list, with long filenames, how is this option not there?
Nope, there is no list view in the app. There is folder view which will show you by folder, but it still will not show you filenames. The whole point of Plex is to organize your files into something visually better than filenames. If you just want filenames, you should use a DLNA app and access Plex’s DLNA server.
I’m interested in how you can then explain that in the web plex client there is a LIST view. Why provide it there?
For the record, I have family videos with long file names and named with date/time prefix, for which I want to see the whole filename in order to select the one I want to see. I don’t care for thumbnails. This is what other users clearly want (from other posts I’ve seen).
So, I’m interested in understanding why Plex provides this option on one client and not on another?
The Web client is also used to manage PMS, in which case having a list view can be helpful. You don’t use other clients to manage PMS. It’s possible list view could be added to other clients. There is already a feature request to add this to the Shield/Android TV but it’s not very popular at the moment.
