Which Linux Plex Server version last to be compatible with Plugins ?

I’m afraid to update my Linux PMS because I depend on Plugins.

Plugins are working fine on my systems, which are all up to date.

I wouldn’t bet on it being announced.

I don’t think any of the clients announced when they stopped supporting plugins, which pissed a lot of people off who can’t downgrade.

yeah well I meant in the release notes that typically accompany a release

either way, I don’t expect them to explicitly call it out, but only they know what they will do, when they do it.

Plug-in support and development thereof is frozen as the announcement says.

When something happens to break what currently works, that will be the end of it.
The usage percentage of plug-ins is so low, as the announcement said, it didn’t merit the effort (Engineering decision). When it finally fails, it will be completely removed.

I respect Plex decision in relation to Plugins.
However I do believe that it is in good will to include in Linux PMS release notes when a new version of PMS drop the support of Plugins (Plugins stop working) so that people have the choice of not upgrading their PMS to keep their support for Plugins.

Thanks for clarifying that 1.15 Linux PMS still support Plugins. Once the memory leaks issue is sorted out,I will update my installation to latest 1.15 PMS.

This is what needs to happen. Plex needs to include it in the release notes when a new version breaks support of major feature such as Plugins.

General support for plugins has not been dropped from the server, yet.

Therefore the information about this hasn’t appeared in any server release notes, yet.

You can subscribe to the ‘release notes thread’ for Plex server to see them notes first-hand: Plex Media Server

Thank you !
