Neither. They’re all very old or just entry-level performance.

Thanks for your replies and information.

I’ll think about what to do.

If you are able to direct play your content, it does not really matter.

Thank you Orka, I would like to repurpose these PCs

You might want to have a look into FreeBSD… It will run from the command line and you don’t have the overhead of a GUI… Again, as stated by @Orko, if you can get your content to direct play you should not have any problem… Currently, I run FreeBSD on a Intel DG33FB motherboard with an Intel Q9650 Core2 Quad 3.0 MHz, 8 GB… Direct playing 3 streams simultaneously doesn’t even break a sweat on the system…

Ummmm… @bjs59 , I customarily run Linux hosts completely headless, no GUI, not even installed. Neither headless Linux or FreeBSD are for the faint of heart, you will need to manage it completely from a command line. A GUI isn’t required for *ix operation.

Hi bjs59, jkalchik_hushmail_com,

I am thinking about a Linux Direct Play Plex Server. I am learning Linux, so will need a GUI, thanks for the info though.
