Which subtitles am I seeing?

Many times when I am looking for a subtitle for a tv show I download 3 versions by renaming them like this - tvshow.srt tvshow.en.srt tvshow.eng.srt

This way I have 3 chances of getting one that is in sync.

So now I am watching a show and the subtitle option usually show like this - None English (SRT External) English (SRT External) Unknown (SRT External)

I pick each one til i get one that works.

Now my question. I want to delete the 2 that r not needed or wrong or outta sync. How do I know which one I am using??

I can only think of a workaround: indicate a different language for each of the versions.

Movie Title (year).mkv
Movie Title (year).eng.srt
Movie Title (year).fre.srt
Movie Title (year).rus.srt
Movie Title (year).ger.srt
...

Thanks that could work
One would be En or eng shows up as English
#2 just plain srt shows as unknown
#3 fr or what ever shows up as in this case French
