Media Decision Engine Logs attached below. Like the title suggests, when audio has to be transcoded from EAC3 > AAC (either 7.1 or 5.1), the video is also transcoding. Normally with H264 video, the file would Direct Stream, but it seems that whenever the video is HEVC, whether 4K or 1080p resolution, the whole thing transcodes. Attached is mediainfo for the file in question. Is this normal? I would expect a Direct Stream. Subtitles are not on but if they are, those Direct Stream (SRT), so it’s not subtitles causing issues like usual.
The reason EAC3 is transcoding to AAC is because I am using Bose bluetooth headphones with my Shield. They do not support EAC3, but they do support DTS and AC3. When I use my TV speakers for audio, the EAC3 audio Direct Plays and everything is peachy. Audio is set to Passthrough and Profile Level is at 5.2. The_Accountant_2016_MediaInfo.txt (9.7 KB)
Any ideas?
