Why does Plex group two different movies together in its web interface?

Without going into details look at this:

du -cksh /mnt/tank/Movies/Riddick\ 2013
5.4G /mnt/tank/Movies/Riddick 2013
5.4G total

du -cksh /mnt/tank/Movies/The\ Chronicles\ of\ Riddick\ 2004
4.3G /mnt/tank/Movies/The Chronicles of Riddick 2004
4.3G total

Have you tried using parentheses for the year? Like “Riddick (2013).mkv”

As @zpaolo11x mentioned following the naming guide will help.

It should follow this format:
/Movies /Movie Title (Year) /Movie Title (Year).ext
