Why does plex not detect down tuners?

As someone else pointed out: DVR Tuner Selection logic w/ multiple tuners… Why can’t plex detect down tuners?

I have two tuners, and one of them got disconnected. So, instead of Plex being smart enough to detect this and switch to another tuner, it just tells you you can’t tune to the channel you are trying to watch! Why??? Such a basic function!!! ERROR CHECKING is ALWAYS a good idea!
