DVR Tuner Selection logic w/ multiple tuners

I have a Plex setup with 3 x HDHomerun Dual Tuners. During some testing, I powered off one of the three tuners, in an effort to force Plex to pick one of the other two. Instead, Plex stubbornly tried to pick the tuner that had been powered off, resulting in a “Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna.”

In my opinion, I have two other perfectly good tuners online, with 4 tuners available. If Plex encounters an error in one of the configured tuners (due to power outage, network issue, etc.) it would seem logical that Plex should fault that particular channel source, and try another one, if there are more than one Channel Source available, in the form of multiple tuners. Simply pounding away at a non-existent tuner, in hopes that it’ll come back, seems inefficient, especially when other accessible devices exist.

While the number of users with multiple tuners may be low, I’m sure I’m not alone and having some code that can choose an alternate tuner (or at least try others) before giving up seems like a good feature add. As a user, should there be multiple tuners available, I would like Plex to try all tuners before giving up and giving a tuning error.

Update: Even restarting PMS does not help, and still getting errors tuning. The device shows “not found” under the Manage LiveTV & DVR, but still will not use the other two detected tuners.
