Why does Plex transcoder come on at random?

I won’t be on Plex at all and all of a sudden when I’m on my computer the CPU is being used up by the transcoder.

Can you enable debug logging and when server does it again attach logs to this discussion.

Server settings/help/logs/ attach zip file

Plex is open right now but nothing is or has been played

Turn on in PMS settings, go to Help in settings, download, attach zip

You have the option enabled to create video thumbnails of your videos. This uses the transcoder and is quite CPU intensive.
