This sux balls, forcing a buggy over cumbersome UI on people is not they way forward.
I now have 5 Xbox’s at home that can’t use plex anymore without problems the biggest being managed users! When my kids switch to there profiles the sidebar is empty, once we finally get it working by “Resetting Customization” none of the library’s load this is just stupid
@Moussa Why has this happened when the old App still had ongoing problems that haven’t been addressed, like Notifications STILL after 3 years popping up over videos?
The new Plex XBOX One UI is awful in almost every way possible.
I had seperate foldre for various categories of movies and TV. This has suddenly gone, and there’s no way to get that structure back.
WTF PLEX???
I’ve tried “Reset Customisation”, but the menu system just reverts to the new Plex Layout, which is now ordered by network file paths back to my NAS Server.
I also really dislike the new UI. Very cumbersome to navigate and the look is just plain terrible. I vote to go back to what we had. There was nothing wrong w/ it.
I just started using Plex and figuring out how to use it to access and organize my media files. What a great idea and useful piece of software. But when the update to my XBox One came my Xbox One will no longer connect to my media server telling me it is not secure. Nothing I have tried will reconnect my Xbox Plex to my server Plex. That is the reason I installed Plex so I could access my media files from my Xbox.
Also, this new interface eliminated my ability to hit a key to back up the folder tree, Using the browser back key is semi worthless and frustrating. Choosing the main heading takes me out of the folder I was in and back to the TOP folder listing. Rarely what I want to do.
And I was so impressed with Plex that I was going to subscribe to support the efforts. Now it doesn’t work on my Xbox.
I can’t figure out how to switch from one Plex media server to another without using Reset Customizations. Used to be able to just view movies from one or the other very easily, but no idea how to do it now.
UI should be simple and easy to use, not daunting.
Why do you think no instruction manuals come with iPads? Because it’s pretty straight forward
NO that’s crap and wrong!
If you follow that you will lose any customisation you may have and it’s a pain in the ■■■■, the quickest way is to actually click more and bam the other servers show up right there, no resetting each and every time you want to flick between servers!
The UI is still utter crap and not at all what people wanted but we stuck with it cos god forbid a company listens to the people that pay there wage!
Yes Im very bitter about it, that cos I am sick to my back teeth with having to resign in my kids every 2 days on the Xbox and the consistent loss of library lists for other users, the UI is far far to buggy still to have been pushed out the way it has!
I used to Plex the most on my Xbox but now thanks to this giant step backwards with no option for folder view I’m forced to use my tv’s Plex, which thankfully isn’t this dreadful new UI. Its just flat out horrid to use and look at.
The XBOX UI is horrible in comparison to the old, also if you’re using PIN’s for logging in, whoever is with you see’s what PIN you are entering, defeats the purpose. Also some serious issues with streaming recorded TV, the audio is about .5 sec lagging, unless you trans code to 720p, then the audio is in sync but lower quality image… Not impressed after paying for Plex Pass to find this…
