Why is Fast Forward (FF) at 32x so slow? It is much faster when using PHT.
Weird, I’m assuming you have timed this, would be interested to see the detailed test results.
32x Fast Forward:
PHT: Media 42min 25 sec => forward time= 16 sec; i.e. 2.83min media/sec (or 170x !)
OpenPHT Media 40 min 18 sec=> forward time=77 sec; i.e. 0.523min media/sec (31.4x !)
In other words, PHT is 2.83/0.523= 5.4 times faster!
Note that OPenPHT is actually forwarding at “advertised” speed; 32x (measured as 31.4x). It is PHT that is a speed demon and forwards faster than 32x (measured as 170x). In any case, I much prefer the faster than advertised speed!
In addition, 32x REW is not working with OpenPHT; it stops after a few seconds of rewinding!
It works fine on PHT ( at 3.25 min media/sec)
