Why my Roku is not able to play MKV files, it says has not enough power to convert it , but MP4 in 4K plays normally

I use a Roku Extreme+, best for 4K.
The server is the WD Cloud Home WDBVXC004HWT-00.

When I play MP4 home made movies in 4K created in power director goes fine.
When I try to play my DVDs converted to MKV in 640x480 or no more than 1024 (from old blurays) it says the server cant convert it, I thought it was a format default for Plex to play it.

I wish to keep the mkv once they have chapters in it.
