Will Plex DVR / Live TV support Closed Captioning in the future?

Let me start by saying how much I love my Plex Media Server, and how much I appreciate all the work that has gone into it over the years. I have been a Plex Pass member since the very beginning. I believed in it early on, and I am happy I did. Plex is an amazing platform!

Now to the topic of my post: Closed Captioning. I spent about two hours searching online, and I cannot find an answer. It looks like most people confuse closed captioning with subtitles! Very surprising actually how many people do not know the difference.

At any rate, I recently started using the Plex DVR and Live TV features, and while those two features still need some work (and universal client support), I think they have come a long way since the initial release, and continue to make steady progress.

Of course, compared to WMC, there are two major shortcomings for Plex DVR / Live TV:

  1. The ability to tune to and record DRM channels, just like Windows Media Center does. [not the subject of current post]

  2. Closed Captioning support (not subtitles!). I feel this is absolutely necessary.

Based on everything I have read, Closed Captioning is not currently supported. Are there plans to add this very important feature in the near future? Even the basic and rudimentary HD HomeRun client supports it!

Thank you!
