In my notification area is a Plex icon with several options including one to open the Plex web player. When chosen an older version of the player opens (4.34.4). This version does not show items such as the free live TV.
If I use the following link (https://app.plex.tv/desktop#) it takes me to web player version (4.42.1) and free live tv is available.
How can I get the notification icon to take me to the latest version of the web player?
You can’t. This is for the first configuration after installing Plex. There is intentionally an older Plex web version bundled, with no known bugs which would prevent claiming the server and setting it up.
