I am undecided about installing Windows 11. I have a basic server run on Windows 10 . I can access out of the home, and I have a few clients, mainly Roku, Apple TV, Samsung TV, and a few FireTVs. Will I upset the whole apple cart if I decide to install Windows 11. I have worked so hard on my server. I’ve learned from scratch (I’m 69!) since retiring in 2014. Thanks!
I, for one would delay the rollout of Windows 11 until a few more hapless victims enterprising users have performed a public beta test and Microsoft had a chance to supply a modicum of the necessary software patches.
Windows 10 is supported until 2025, so there is plenty of life left in it.
(Not to mention the strict hardware requirements of Windows 11, which could thwart the attempt to use Win 11 on existing hardware anyway.)
There is only a minimum of experience with Windows 11 at Plex at the moment.

Delay windows 11… at first it ran great now since the last update my speed and lag have moved things to a crawl. I contacted Microsoft support and they said there’s so many issues to roll back to Windows 10. (Saved the chat log). Unfortunately with windows 10, I had data deletion issues. I thought it was my old ssd drives finally going but they checked out great. This year I added a new board, processor, memory, cooler, and a new nvme drive. Started having this issue with windows 11 again now after this last update. It deleted my wireguard vlan adapter and reverted settings like my GPU cooler color settings (not even stock settings which is even more weird) honestly it’s been a disaster so far. If windows 10 is stable for you stick with it! Clean installs haven’t even helped me

Thankfully I keep my important data backed up. Setting up VPN, apps, etc… is quick and easy. I’d suggest the same but I dunno your situation. Make sure you backup if you plunge. Once 10 days is up it’s fresh install only but I recommend fresh install regardless and not importing any settings or files. Just my .02 lol I’m debating going back currently but it won’t make much use as I plan on pulling up a server asap, probably in January or so and running proxmox, etc… Since my games aren’t affected and it’s only OS level deletions (nothing on my NAS drives at all) I may stick with it and just deal. If I do revert, I bring down everything in the house too until the server is up. I’m tired of doing windows installs haha
I have a very simple setup, but I do backup my server every couple of months. And my movies/TV shows at the same time.
