Windows Server 2019 SmartScreen Warning for 1.18.2.2015

Server Version#: 1.18.2.2015
Player Version#: N/A

Went to updated to 1.18.2.2015 on Server 2019 install, and SmartScreen gives a (false?) warning about the install that I downloaded from Plex.tv. I don’t seem to get the SmartScreen warning on standard Windows 10, but only Server 2019. I’ve tried it on a couple 2019 server setups, and they all warn about the install. I updated one of the Plex servers within PMS auto update itself, and that worked fine. I also went a head, and “ran anyway” the install PlexMediaServer-1.18.2.2015-5a99a9a46-x86.exe on the other 2019 server, and it installed fine.

Everything is working fine. This is just to inform anyone that might be seeing the same behavior.

Thanks,

Just wanted to confirm that I am seeing the same behavior with 1.18.2.2015 and now 1.18.2.2029 on server 2019. I wonder if this is why I can only install updates manually now.

Same here, but I don’t even get the option to Run anyway.

I clicked the “More Info” button, and then it gives the option to “run anyway”.

Hope that helps.

Same problem for me.

  • Windows 10 Home build 1903 + Windows Defender SmartScreen
  • PlexMediaServer-1.18.3.2111-5a96726d0-x86.exe

Is the forum the right way to get the attention of the developers? This problem has to get fixed.

Same issue here. Windows 10 Pro - 1909.

Same. Looks like they’ve let their signature lapse.
