Windows Service Eventually Stops Accepting Connections until hard reset

Server Version#:
Windows 1.27.2.5929-a806c5905
Player Version#:
Plex Windows Desktop Player 4.29.2
(Also observed on web browser in Google Chrome)
(Also observed on latest Plex for Android in the Google Play Store)
(Also observed on latest Plex for LG WebOS)

Hi all, I have an issue I’ve been seeing with my Windows Install of Plex. It is running on a Windows desktop dedicated as a home server (only remoted into, no monitor, etc).

The issue being observed is that every couple of days, Plex becomes inaccessible from all clients. Whether it’s Android, web browser, WebOS (LG), or the native Windows client, Plex will eventually stop serving media files. All clients respond by failing to load metadata or playing any files.

I listen to music from my server quite often, and it is something that is frequent enough that throughout the day, I’ll eventually notice that after music has been playing, it’ll eventually stop and I’ll start getting timeouts.

Most of the time, I have to go into my server and stop the application by exiting and then restarting. This typically fixes it. Occasionally, gracefully exiting Plex and restarting seems to not work (files are still inaccessible) and I have to go into task manager and kill ALL Plex services (update, encoders, etc), THEN restart for it to resolve.

I haven’t grabbed logs (usually I kill it rather impatiently), but will make an effort next time it occurs. Hoping somebody has had similar experiences and there is a known fix.

This server version is ancient. Please update to a recent version, then try to recreate the issue again.
