Plex constantly stops responding - It's not accessible remotely or locally

I have been experiencing problems with Plex where the server just stops working.
When Plex stops responding the tray icon (not always) disappears from the task bar, and I only get a loading animation when trying to access the server I my browser or from the app (this happens both locally and remotely).
The only way I’ve been able to fix this is by either rebooting the computer or ending every task related to plex (including all python tasks) from task manager.
This always happens eventually after an update, but it can stop working seemingly at random at any time.

I have no idea how to stop this from happening in the first place, but if this is a bug it needs to be fixed ASAP.

I’ve been having the same issue and it seems to be happening more frequently. Plex process keeps running, but does not respond. As you said, the only way to restore service is to kill the Plex processes and restart them. Right now, it seems to happen at random times, perhaps once every week or so. Sometimes I am watching something normally, and suddenly the video freezes and I can’t play anymore unless I go to the server and recover. I am looking at the logs and see what I can come up with.

Having the same issue. It was roughly weekly until the last update, and now seems to be almost daily. Have had to manually update on the server recently too since the install update button has stopped working, but perhaps that’s a symptom of the same thing. Windows based server here.

End up having to End Task the different running tasks and re-start the server.

I am running mine on Debian Stretch and experience the same problem. It was working find until a couple weeks ago.
