No matter what CPU settings I choose, it refuses to use more than one core at a time. No CPU pinning settings are in effect.
Optimization is considered a “background” task. Therefore it won’t use more than one core, to not interfere too much with foreground tasks.
That makes the presumption that using more than one core will interfere with foreground tasks which is increasingly uncommon.
I have 32 cores. I am capable of judging how much of my resources I want to use. How do I make it use more than one core?
You can’t – to my knowlege at least.
This seems an obvious feature needed in 2020. How can we request it?
