A sweet feature, IMO, would allow Plex users to add their own brief review of a particular movie (ie: album, Tv show, etc.) This review would then be available for the other Plex users to read when deciding on a movie for movie night. <IE: The movie “The Martian”> After my plex user watches The Martian, they would be able to go back to the movie and add a brieif review of the flick, “Interesting, but slow moving ~PUser.” Then when another one of my Plex users decides to watch The Martian, they would be able to see what past users thought of it. Again, this is just an idea that I thought would be pretty cool. It kinda brings someones Plex users together.
Sorry, don’t care what others I share with think of it. Them starting it and then stopping it mid way tells me enough. Don’t need more info from them about it, unless there’s an issue with the video quality, audio quality or subtitles are wrong. Then I get a call…
Haha yeah I can understand the phone calls/text messages… I get 'em too… I just think it could be kinda cool to have a feature like that.
Who would determine which of the reviews are shown on the media’s page? The one making the review or the admin? Or do you want there to be a “review” page for local user’s reviews, showing everyone’s thoughts of the media as it was presented on that server?
There’s just too many fuzzy issues here. The ambiguity of your poll doesn’t give the idea a real chance to move forward. If you are convinced that the idea is sound, flesh it out. Spell out the whole idea as you see it and then maybe make up a few mockups to show others the idea.
Honestly with PlexPy, I get enough info of what people like and don’t like to know what their reviews are likely to be. I don’t need to tie up my server’s resources hosting this data for someone that may not even use it. I know I won’t use it… I watch what I want to watch when I feel like watching something. If I’m worried about reviews I go to IMDB or Rotten Tomatoes and look it up.
Id have it limited to problem reporting tbh.

Good idea MikeG, I’ll type up a detailed description and possibly draw up a couple print screen ideas/thoughts as well.
I would rather the resources be used to get the reporting tools like PlexPy ported into the Web App. Or having a better, more comprehensive User Manager interface with working black lists for exceptions. Or Bandwidth limiting tied to user IDs and the devices used by my users. Or excluding specific device types globally, or by each user…
These would be things that would interest me, and from the voting on the feature requests forums, others a lot more. This idea would fall a lot further down the priority lists than any of the ones I just outlined. If it were brought out, I would hope that I could turn the function off. I don’t want to see what others think. I get reviews from tons of other sites. If they don’t like the movie, then they don’t have to watch it. I don’t care, either way… Having the reviews from the local users is of absolutely no benefit.
In other words, don’t take the time on my account. This isn’t something I would vote for…
