Give the administrator and or users the ability to disable reviews. I really don’t care what others especially critics think of my favourite films.
I am using the review feature to display Awards for movies.

While convenient for some it’s irritating for others. Plex has a great deal of customization and a simple tick box to remove reviews would be greatly appreciated. I love seeing the actors as well as the search options via actor and the plot summary but most peeps really don’t care what “Robert Ebert” or others think of films. You buy and watch the film because you or others like it.
In summation, a simple check box to add or remove the reviews would make all plex users happy either way.

I only wish that I had a vote to give for this. They added an option to disable reviews for music - now we need it for movies.

Oh god I would hate to see the reviews of some of my fav bands! As an actual musician I think KISS are very talented but man do they get hate!

It would be neat to see a rating histogram instead of an average.
If everybody agrees that something is 6/10, it’s probably a nice bland 6/10, and frankly, life’s too short.
But if some people HATE it and some people LOVE it … that’s worth trying out.
Personally I like his I can rate the films and shows myself. It’s the reviews that irritates me the most. It mostly effects my wife however. Unhappy wife, unhappy life

My rule of thumb is simple. The lower the rating at Rotten Tomatoes, the better the movie. Specially those movies that are politically incorrect.

Haha very true. When I see “fresh” or a high rating on fatten tomatoes we usual reconsider buying it. And Wait until it’s on a super special before purchasing it lmao

Agreed, this is one of the worst features ever as the reviews most often are done by people who hate the movies I love!

I think, coding a quick and dirty metadata “supporting” agent that cleans up reviews in Python is not too hard.
The disadvantage: it would just work with the classic Plex Movie (legacy) agent. The new Plex Movie agent doesn’t support metadata agents any longer.
Any need of me trying to code that?
Anything to get rid of the damn reviewers!

Here you go:
This is a “supporting” metadata agent for the classic “Plex Movie (lecgay)” agent - not the new Plex agent which does not support 3rd party agents at all.
Following is the setup of your agents:
Make sure that the “Reset TMBD reviews” agent is ontop of all other agents in the “Plex movie (legacy)” ribbon under “agents” setup and that it is “set active”.
Please also make sure that you activate the basic functionality under my agents setup:
The third thing that you need to make sure of is to use the correct scanner for your library:
Whenever I add a new movie to that library, it comes up without reviews.
I haven’t tried if it is okay to just update the metadata of any movie…
