X300 EXPANSION BOARD

hello;
im very new to RPi 3B, and rasplex. recently i bought this expansion board for my rpi:

specifically to use the SPDIF output, as well as the external wifi antenna.

how am i able to enable the functionality of this board for use in RasPLEX ?
is it even possible ?

It looks like that expander needs support from the OS which Rasplex does not have (Perhaps the dev’s could look into adding it one day). Is there any reason you opted for that rather than an external converter?

The support has to be added in LibreElec (OpenElec’s fork) for it to work in Rasplex. Boards like the HiFiBerry are already supported.

thank you all for your answers; i have hesitantly returned the X300 board, and instead purchased a HIFI berry DAC w/spdif output.

i do have a new concern however…
seeing as the HIFI Berry will show up in the options as its own sound device, that is not ‘considered’ - “HDMI and ANALOG”

my questions now is:

how/can i have rasplex + raspberry pi 3b output audio over my new HIFI Berry AND the Pi’s built in ANALOG output at the same time ?

i do have a reason for asking for both outputs.
