Xbox One can't login to local Plex Server without Internet Connection

Hi,
due to the fact that our ISP is unable to service us proper internet connection, it seems to be impossible to watch movies on my xbox one which are hosted on a plex server ( newest version, plex pass ) which is in the same LAN.

My iphone can access the server, tablets within the lan, without internet connection. how can i make this happen with the xbox one ?

are you serious ? IF this is correct, this must be THE biggest FAIL ever. HOW can somebody be so stupid to conectp a system like this ? it is WITHIN the same LAN, its connected to the SAME switch!

please plex people, don`t tell me that you are sooo bright, and sooo fresh and new and bla bla but NOBODY ever tried to solve this major problem!

This is (was, unsure if it has changed since the app was first conceived) a limitation imposed by Microsoft - not Plex. The requirement stated that the app had to have a valid and logged in Xbox Live Account (Silver).

An Xbox Live account is required, but it does not need to be a “Gold” account. The free Xbox Live Silver account will work fine.

While this may be the case, the Xbox does not allow third party apps the ability to scan the network. This is why the Xbox application also only works if you have remote access enabled, because it can go out to the Plex.tv servers to retrieve the addresses to connect to your server.

It’s my understanding that this information should be cached on the Xbox once you have connected and as long as you don’t change users, but I’ve personally not found that to be very reliable.

there is absolutly no need for scanning my local network if this is a problem, if i could just enter a local ip address…
