Will we ever be able to filter collections? i have all my jaws hunger games bonds etc etc in there own collection but on the xbox one i cant filter collections
Yup. Filtering (including by collection) is in the next update.
any idea when the next update comes out? and what else the update will have/do?
The next update will be out ‘soon’ and will have ‘more feature parity stuff’

We can’t commit to an ETA since there are so many uncertainties. We will post when we have submitted a build for certification, which should be very soon (between hours and days), but the time between that and release varies from weeks to months.
As well as filters/sorts, you can expect more catching up with other clients and bug fixes. Since we may yet have issues with features during cert, I’d rather not commit to releasing a certain feature set now.
