XMLTV sports teams tags not working

Hi, I’m currently rebuilding my XMLTV guide and while doing research about it, I came across this mailing list post from IceTV, stating that they added sports and team elements to their XMLTV at the request of Plex.

I was under the assumption that if I added these elements to my XMLTV file, I would be able to get an interface similar to this:

However, this did not seem to work. Can I get confirmation that the team element is used at all?

For reference, here is a relevant snippet of the XMLTV I am providing:

I would really appreciate if someone with knowledge of this could give their input, especially since I’m providing a service that Plex is unable to provide themselves now!

We don’t currently read sport team information in XMLTV, but it’s certainly something we’re interested in supporting!

Thanks for your reply. I assume if this support is added then it will be mentioned in the PMS changelog?

I would also appreciate if you guys considered adding a way to provide series descriptions for entire shows (see this thread for more details).

Yes, if and when this is implemented, it’ll appear in the PMS change log. I’m not sure about series descriptions, but I know IceTV provide IMDB/TVDB IDs, which may help get the correct information.

The main issue for me was when Plex mismatches programmes with the enhanced guide enabled, since most local shows here don’t have accompanying IMDB/TVDB/TheMovieDB pages, however I am able to get this metadata from local sources, so it would be nice to be able to surface this in Plex, however it’s obviously a very minor feature.

I’ll ask around, but you can always add things to TVDB/TMDB :wink:
You wouldn’t believe how much time I’ve spent adding Australian things to online databases :joy:

I don’t think I quite have the time and patience to do that!

Anyway, thanks for your help here, I appreciate it and I hope to see some of these features one day!
