Hi,
I have an xTeve server running and configured to play with my PMS.
I am allowed to use two tuners concurrently, but I have a strange behaviour when trying to use it:
if xTeve is configured to use xTeve buffer itself, I can use both tuners (that confirms I am allowed for 2 channels at the same time). But CPU in my PLEX computer boosts and sounds like it’s going to explode
If I use FFMPEG or VLC for buffering, it works perfecly for 1 stream, but when I try to start a second one I see in xTeve log Tuner 2/2 and, inmediatly, the first strem is “closed by third party”
I thougth it should be a problem with my xTeve instance, but when I connect it to an Emby server, I can play two streams with no problem. So it seems it’s something depending on my PMS configuration or how Plex is recalling the streams.
Any idea about what to try?
Thanks a lot.
I just noticed this 2 days ago when setting up my xteve, it only allows one stream. I can add more tuners in the settings, I’m just not sure how to do it… Adding tuners adds streams to xteve?
I have my EPG source set to send a certain list of channels available in my country. If I generate a new M3U with different channels, I don’t know if it will change my original tuner channel list. Also I don’t know if I can play a stream while recording another. The way I am set up now, I think I can only do one or the other, record or watch. But that is onle because I am set up for 1 tuner only. Maybe I will add another tuner tomorrow and see what happens.
The amount of processing may be increased in your case because xteve is using our PCs as a tuner, and you are doing it twice, so it may simply be a lot of CPU usage. If you are using Emby, is it still using your PC? I’ve never worked with that, so I don’t know. I’ve noticed when I am recording, my CPU and Ram is way up there. And then if I stream a movie from my library to another device, the usage goes up even more. But my upstream is lousy and my PC has a few bottlenecks. I have a Mac Pro with Bootcamp and Win 10 LTSC ready to set up, maybe I can run my xteve from there. I’m very interested in any resolutions of this issue you may come across, I’ve only been using xteve for a few months.
Sorry for the tome, let me know what you find out.
