xTeVe - IPTV for Plex DVR

Hi Ricardo,

Have you tried restarting your docker container? When I restart mine it looses the settings and I have to setup xteve again (thru the web interface).

When I try adding a volume during container creation (/volume1/docker/xteve:/home/xteve/xteve:rw) it fails with a permission error and I can’t figure out how to get around it.

I’ve tried changing the folder permissions to be root (as docker on Synoilogy runs as root) but it still doesn’t work.

I have the same issue. Always have to setup everything again.

In my configuration I had to use “same host network” option, and link a file *.m3u not the full folder

For host option:
Try to create the container again, during the setup mark the “same host” option and try to start the container now.

For *.m3u:
Try one config like this:

Ok, I have installed Docker on Synology, and installed the xTeVe. But what is the next step? Where do I upload the m3u file? And how do I make it recognisable as a dice in Plex DVR?

Spanish m3u Movistar: https://www.noltari.es/movistartv/

If it’s your first time with docker, maybe you can learn to use xTeVe, in your familiar SO, Win, Mac… try to configure with oficial documentation and after try with docker…

PD: I know the Noltari’s tools

Where can I find detailed official documentation? I think that this is my biggest problem, trying to do it without detailed step-by-step documentation…

You can found it at https://xteve.de/

Everything is in the Discord channel under #faq

Thanks marmei, but it is still unclear to me how to proceed.

These are the steps I have taken:

  1. Have installed Docker in Synology
  2. Created the container from https://hub.docker.com/r/crobibero/xteve/
  3. Now completly clueless what the next steps are
I don’t know where to add my m3u file. Do I need to add it via the Terminal in the container? If so, how?
When I go to Plex DVR, and want to add a new device, it does not find anything…

I have plex media server installed as a package in Synology and have already a HDHomerun installed in Plex DVR.

Thank you in advance for your help…

Erwin

The Docker container is not mine. I use FreeBSD with jails. xTeVe has a web interface to configure.

I’m using xteve on a qnap 453be nas and Vader iptv loading 280 channels,

In the DVR setting if I use enhanced guid, it takes approximatly 8-12 hours to fully load, if I uncheck it takes about 5 min

Any idea why this is? My nas shows almost no network traffic and no cpu load wild loading the guide

280 channels times 7 days of data is a lot of calls, one at a time, out to their guide data provider. My guide refresh went from about 15 minutes down to 1 by turning off enhanced as well. Whatever additional call(s) they are making to get the additional data certainly do not seem to be optimal. They really don’t care either because they do not support IPTV anyway and with a real hdhomerun you are very unlikely to get anywhere near that number of channels.

Ok thanks, now I know it’s not a problem on my end.

Someone who has any tip to my problem.
My problem is that i run this excellent xteve and uses Apple TV Plex to watch and manage the EPG.
BUT… when Plex create the EPG guide if I map only the HD channels I have notised that if a channel has two or three different setup according to resolution (1. none HD 2. HD and 3. FULLHD resolution) even if I chose the full HD channel in the guide and sins AppleTV Plex cant play the channel and I have to chose the “Show” the Show says… even if I choose Full HD channel It says… “runs on noneHD” channel… Is their any solution?.. It would have been nice to play the channel as you can in webbrowser. Can I go arround this somehow?..
Sorry for my bad english.

Thanks.

I have tried to access the webinterface at http://synologyip:34400 but I get the message Page not Found. Any idea?

Go to http://synoip:34400/web, but you need to wait a bit since the web interface doesn’t start until after the xml is downloaded if you’ve already run it before.

Which xml does it need to download? Should I enter some information after installing xTeVe in Docker?

Sorry mispoke on that, it only does that if you already set it up with an XML file. I don’t use the docker on my Synology, I just use the Linux binary.

What’s the output of ‘docker ps’ (or ‘sudo docker ps’)?

Maybe I should only use the Linux binary.
Any possibility to help me set it up with the Linux binary? I am not a techie…

I got a new source m3u, and EPG. Unfortunately, the entire program mapping has been lost. Is it possible to enable alphabetical sorting of channels? Or the option of saving the existing mapping?
